What is the arena's infant policy?
For Ohio State Events - everybody must have a ticket to gain admittance. For Entertainment events -- Children under the age of two may sit on the lap of a ticket-holder without requiring a ticket. For Sesame Street Live, children under the age of 1 may sit on the lap of a ticket holder without requiring a ticket.
Are cameras permitted to be brought into Value City Arena?
Cameras are permitted for all Ohio State University athletic events; however, professional lenses will not be permitted. At no time may photography interfere with other guests' enjoyment, stair aisles or access ways during an event. For Entertainment events, the camera policy can vary from event to event so please call ahead to check the policy for the event you are attending.

Who handles your food and beverage concession stands?
Sodexho Food Services has 37 permanent concession stands located throughout the Center offering various types of food and beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) including Coca-Cola products, Donato's Pizza and Starbucks Coffee. You can contact them at (614) 292-3211. All guests wishing to purchase alcohol will be required to show a valid form of ID.
How can I purchase backstage passes?
Backstage passes can never be purchased. Backstage passes are supplied by the tour. The Schottenstein Center does not have access to backstage passes.
What is the arena's animal policy?
Animals are not allowed in the arena except for those with disabled guests. Please contact the Center's ADA Coordinator Scott Dickson at 614-688-3939 to set up any necessary accommodations.
What accomodations are there for people with disabilities?
Assisted Listening Devices - headsets and receivers for our multi-channel LPB Radio-Aide - are available at no charge at Guest Services located at Section 122 on the entry level. Either a driver's license or credit card will be required as a deposit.
Tickets in Accessible Seating Areas are available for purchase for guests in wheelchairs or with limited mobility on each level and within each price range for any event. Over 150 wheelchair accessible spaces are provided, though this may vary depending on event configuration. Wheelchair accessible seating is located in the following areas: Entry Level (Sections 101, 105, 106, 110, 111, 114, 117, 118, 121, 124, 127, 128, 131, 134), Terrace Level (Sections 304, 307, 314, 321, 324, 331) and in the Press Box Level. Tickets in these sections can be purchased through the Center Ticket Office in person or by calling 614-292-2624 or 1-800-GO-BUCKS OR through Ticketmaster by visiting the nearest Ticketmaster outlet, calling 614-431-3600 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Please indicate the need for disability seating to the ticket seller.
Wheelchair Companion Seating is reserved for the companions of guests in wheelchairs. The number of these seats available depends on the number of wheelchair users and companion seats sold and the number of conventional seats sold closest to the desired accessible seating area in each of the ticket categories. Our general policy for Entertainment Events is that each guest in a wheelchair is allowed to purchuse up to three (3) companion seats in the accessible seating area. For OSU Athletics Events, each guest in a wheelchair is allowed to purchase one (1) companion seats in the accessible area. Additional seats may be purchased in the nearest conventional seats. This policy may be altered for events where there is a high demand for accessible seats. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and there is no guarantee that any companion tickets will be available at the time of purchase.
Tickets in Sections for Patrons with Visual or Hearing Impairments are available for purchase (unless not permitted by the touring artists) through the Center Ticket Office or TDD 614-292-6374 or Ticketmaster. Please indicate the need for visually-impaired or hearing-imparied seating to the ticket seller.
Interpreting Services can be provided at no charge by calling the JSC ADA Coordinator Scott Dickson at 614-688-3939 a minimum of three weeks prior to the event date so accomodations can be made. Late requests cannot be guaranteed.
Ticket Exchanges can be made to accommodate guests with disabilities. If you are unsure whether or not your tickets are in an accessible area, please contact the Center Ticket Office as soon as possible. If a guest in a wheelchair exchanges a conventional seat ticket for a ticket in an accessible area, the Center will make every effort to provide new tickets in the closest or comparable accessible seating location.
Disability Assistance is available. Simply notify a staff member at any of our four entrances upon arrival and one of our representatives will pick you up in a wheelchair and escort you as close as possible to your seat. They will then make arrangements to pick you up at the conclusion of the event.
Are there ATMs inside the arena?
Yes - ATMs are available at sections 117 and 131 on the Entry Level and at section 231 of the Huntington Level.
Are bags or backpacks allowed?
No - large bags and backpacks are NOT permitted inside the arena at any time. You will be instructed to return the item to your vehicle if you arrive at the Center with such an item.
Are banners, posters/signs or noise-making devices allowed?
Banners, posters or signs are not permitted for any Ohio State Athletic event. For Entertainment events, the sign policy can vary from event to event so please call ahead to check the policy for the event you are attending. Please note that any allowed items may not be placed around the Center. No poles or sticks to display such items are allowed. Any signs deemed offensive, vulgar or commercial in nature are not permitted. Noise-making devices, including horns, whistles, air horns, change filled milk jugs, cow bells, bugles, etc, are not permitted inside the Center.
Are containers allowed?
No - food and beverages, coolers, bottles and cans are not permitted in the Center at any time.
What time do doors open?
Depending on the event, doors typically open 60 to 90 minutes prior to the start of the event. Please call 614-688-3939 to verify times for the event you will be attending.
How can I attempt to reach somebody attending an event in the case of an emergency?
Call our Administrative Office at 614-688-3939 and give them the exact seat location including Section, Row and Seat number - we will gladly take a message to them. Without this information, it could be impossible to locate them, as we are unable to make PA announcements during events.
What should I do in the event of an emergency?
Notify any JSC Team Member of uniformed police officer. Paramedics and EMT staff are located at the First Aid Centers on the entry level at Section 118 and on the terrace level at Section 331.
What is appropriate guest/fan conduct?
Depending on the audience demographics and type of event, standing may be accepted as normal. Guests are permitted to stand if the majority of the crowd is doing so. Many artists will instruct JSC staff not to ask anyone to sit down during their performance, though each situation will be handled on an individual basis. Standing on seats, rails or other structures is never permitted under any circumstance. The following behaviors may lead to ejection from the facility:
- Public intoxication: persons observed breaking the law
- Persons using obscene or abusive language
- Persons observed throwing objects on the event floor or stage
Where is Guest Services located?
Guest Services, home of our Access Service Center, is located on the Main Concourse at Section 122. Guest Services is professionally staffed and distributes assisted listening devices and alternative format materials, among a variety of other services.
Where is the Hall of Fame located?
The Hall of Fame is located across from The Official Team Shop and is open during normal business hours and during all OSU athletic events. Admission is free!
Is there an item check?
No. Only child restraint seats that do not fit may be checked at Guest Services.
Are laser pens allowed?
No - laser pens or any other type of laser object is strictly prohibited. Any guest found using such an object is subject to immediate ejection from the building and/or confiscation of the object. Any game delay created by use of such an object by a fan can result in a penalty to the home team.
Where is the Lost & Found located?
During an event, all Lost & Found items (including any lost children) are taken to Guest Services (Section 122). Once the event is completed, all unclaimed items are taken to our main administration offices. If you need to follow-up about a lost item, please call 614-688-3939.

What items are strictly prohibited?
For the safety and comfort of guests, staff, and the artist, the following items are never permitted in the facility:
• Animals (except service animals assisting guests with disabilities)
• Coolers or containers (includes cans and bottles)
• Fireworks or explosives
• Food or beverages
• Helium balloons and beach balls
• Illegal Drugs
• Laser Pointers
• Noise makers and horns
• Strollers
• Weapons of any description (includes some pocket knives, wallet chains, tools and some jewelry)
• Other items that in the judgment of JSC Management pose a safety hazard or diminish the enjoyment of an event by other guests.
There are additional items (those that pose a threat to guests, staff and artists depending on the type of show and the audience demographic it attracts) that may be prohibited for a specific event.
Is there a Quiet Room?
A parent's quiet room is an area where parents can relax during certain concerts that attract a younger demographic. Snacks, magazines and a television are all available in the Quiet Room. A ticket for the event is not required, however, parents must remain in the Quiet Room and do not have access to the show at any time. The room is free of charge and available at only certain shows. Please call to see if there is a Quiet Room for the event your child is attending.
What is the Center's Re-Entry policy?
Guests of the Center may not leave and then re-enter. All guests must present an unused ticket to gain entrance to the Center.
Are there any safety issues to be aware of?
Please be aware of flying pucks! They can be propelled into the stands at any time during warm-up, play or after the stoppage of play. To help avoid injury, please be alert at all times when you are in the stands. If at any time you are injured, please contact the nearest JSC Team Member for assistance. First Aid is located on the entry level at Section 118 and on the terrace level at Section 331.
Where are the seating locations inside the arena?
• Floor Level: Seats are located on the floor one level down from the entry level and be accessed by way of the stairs, elevator or seating down aisles.
• Entry Level: Also known as the 100 Level seats, they are located off the Entry Level concourse and range from 101 to 134.
• Huntington Club Level: 200 Level seating found one level up from the entry level. Escalator, elevator or stairway can access this level. This level is restricted during Men's Basketball games to those with proper tickets (200 Level, Suite ticket holders, PSL ticket holders or Endowment Club members).
• Terrace Level: 300 level seating is two levels up from the Entry Level. Access can be found by taking an elevator, escalator or stairway.
Is there building Security at all times?
The Center's security is managed 24 hours a day 7 days a week and is provided to offer professional protection for the facility, guests and performers.
What is the building's Smoking Policy?
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the Center. However, designated smoking areas are located on our outdoor terraces located across from Sections 330 and 333.
What is the Tag-a-Kid program?
Oftentimes when children are separated from their parents / guardians, they do not know their seat location nor do they have a ticket stub. This program helps ensure the safety of our guests of all ages. Families simply need to check in at Guest Services to enroll in the program. Each child will be given a wristband to wear that indicates the child's exact seat location. In the unfortunate event that the child gets separated from his/her group, we can efficiently return them to their parents/guardians. The wristbands are particularly helpful if the child is shy and hesitant to speak with strangers.
Are there television monitors at the Center?
There are over 200 television monitors located throughout the Center to ensure that you never miss a moment of the Buckeye action.
Are telephones available?
Accessible telephones are located on various levels of The Jerome Schottenstein Center. Public use pay phones are located on the Entry level outside section 131 and inside the Northwest Rotunda and on the Huntington level at section 217. A public TDD is located on the Entry Level in the JSC Administration Office.
Does the Center offer tours?
We do offer free tours on a limited basis. All tours must be scheduled in advance by calling 688-3939. Keep in mind that we must schedule tours around the many events we have in the facility. Tours cannot be provided on an event day. JSC Management strictly determines additional availability. Tour guests who require interpreting services should contact the Center ADA Coordinator three weeks prior to the anticipated tour date.
What happens if a guest violates one of the Center's policies?
Any violation of Center policies or state/local laws may result in ejection, fines, and/or prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. Violators may be barred from future events.
